CRIME VICTIM COMPENSATION
Frequently, a victim of crime gets injured by a criminal who
has no money or property. Although it would be easy to win
a lawsuit against the criminal, there will be no assets from
which to collect on a judgement. Therefore suing the criminal
will be worthless.
A crime victim attorney has the creativity to find another
party to compensate the victim for his or her injuries. The
following are examples: a) a guardian may have failed to prevent
a child from being sexually abused; b) a landlord may have
failed to replace a broken lock on a door allowing a criminal
to enter a tenant's apartment; c) a security company might
have used incompetent security guards who failed to prevent
a crime; d) a repair company may have failed to perform a
criminal background check on a convicted violent criminal
who performs home repairs; e) a tavern owner may have served
a drunk driver too many shots of alcohol before he killed
a family in a car.
These are only some of many instances where an attorney could
obtain compensation for a crime victim where a criminal has
no assets. If you or someone you know has been a victim of
a crime, contact our firm and ask for Lawrence DeMarco.

just the other driver that might be at fault. It takes an
experienced investigator to discover the true cause of an
injury. This might include faulty air bags, defective brakes,
defective seat belts, a confusing or poorly marked construction
zone, broken traffic signals, and much, much more.
If you or someone you know has been in an auto accident, call

WORKERS’ COMPENSATION
Workers’ Compensation deals with injuries or occupational
diseases suffered by employed persons while on the job. The
Pennsylvania Workers' Compensation Act provides benefits to
workers injured on the job or having an occupational disease
regardless of who was at fault or of the previous physical
condition of the employee. Basic benefits include:
1) Weekly compensation to the disabled worker;
2) Reasonable, necessary and related hospital, surgical
and medical expenses; and
3) Death benefits and burial expenses to a deceased worker's
dependents.
These benefits DO NOT include any recovery for pain and suffering.
The law applies to all injuries or occupational diseases occurring
in Pennsylvania regardless of where the worker was hired and
may cover injuries or occupational diseases occurring outside
of Pennsylvania under certain circumstances.
There are many procedural steps in the Workers’ Compensation
process. At DeMarco & DeMarco, P.C., our main objective
is to protect your rights as an injured worker and obtain
for you all the benefits to which you are entitled by law.
If you have suffered an injury while on the job or have gotten

MEDICAL MALPRACTICE
Every year thousands of people are injured as a result of
medical malpractice. This type of malpractice is negligence
by a medical professional. Negligence is the breach of a legal
duty owed to the patient by the medical professional that
causes an injury (damage).
A doctor, hospital, nurse and/or care-giving facility can
be sued for failing to order tests, missing a diagnosis, delaying
treatment or other unreasonable conduct which causes injury
to a patient. Malpractice cases are almost always very hotly
contested. Medical professionals rarely will admit they have
done something wrong or made a mistake which could have been
avoided. Medical professionals and almost always can find
a colleague to defend their professional judgment. Law firms
accepting malpractice cases must invest substantial time and
money to help prove the care (or lack of it) caused the patient's
bad outcome.
DeMarco & DeMarco, P.C. has the resources and experience
to handle this challenging area of the law. We receive referrals
from other lawyers and handle cases throughout Pennsylvania.
We have settled numerous medical malpractice cases and have
taken many others to trial.
If you have a possible medical malpractice case, please call
us. We do not charge for consultations. All of our cases are
taken on a contingency basis -- we don't get paid unless you
get paid.
